Write for us: We’re looking for guest contributors (editorial / analysis)

We believe the international affairs industry is richer when more voices are heard. That’s why we invite respected analysts, journalists, and practitioners to share their expertise with our global audience.

Why contribute

At The Diplomat’s Cabinet, we bridge global affairs through narrative diplomacy that benefits institutions, decision-makers, and audiences worldwide. By contributing, you’ll:

  • Reach an international network of policy, media, and civil society leaders.

  • Shape the conversation on geopolitics, gender, climate, security, defence, and digital futures.

  • Be part of a curated platform committed to clarity, innovation, and influence.

Who and what we are looking for

We welcome contributions from analysts, journalists, diplomats, civil society leaders, academics/scholars, and policy practitioners in adjacent industries.

We are looking for

  • Newsletter Editorials: ~400‑word thought pieces with a compelling narrative hook, offering fresh perspectives for our global readership. These open each edition of The Diplomat’s Cabinet and set the tone for the issue.

  • Short Analysis Briefs: ~250‑word, sharp, and accessible breakdowns of complex developments, answering “why does this matter?” for policy watchers and engaged citizens alike. These appear in our One Story to Watch section.

How to contribute

Send us your idea (a brief 100-word outline) of your proposed piece. Please include your bio and links to previous work.

Deadline: None – we review submissions every other week.
